Cognac, a variety of Brandy. Cognac production falls under French appellation d'origine contrôlée designation, with production methods and naming required to meet certain legal requirements.

V.S. -  Very Special, aged at least 2 years in a cask.

V.S.O.P.  - Very Superior Old Pale, aged at least 4 years in a cask.

Napoléon - A blend in which the youngest brandy is aged for at least 6 years.

XO - ( Extra Old )The minimum age used in a XO blend must be at least 10 years in cask.
